There is a whole bunch of fun stuff you can do with the system, but I think this is a great one to get started because it's so simple and powerful. Then type the code into the big text box, hit save, and drag your new macro onto your action bar to test it out. When casting a spell: The first and second hit will add. The only channeled spell which does is Arcane Missiles. Damage over Time spells and most channelled spells will not cause interruption. Then hit new, leave the icon on the Question Mark so it will default the icon to the one for the spell you're using, name it and hit Okay. In general any melee attack (be it a normal or a special attack) or direct damage spell will cause interruption. If you've never mucked around with the macro system, just hit Escape and go to Macros to get started. Seriously, it'll speed things up more than you realize and the results should be noticeable almost immediately. Here's my macro for Tar Trap as an example: /cast Tar Trap See a teammate get sapped in a BG? BAM Flare right on top of him and oh look, there's the rogue! It's also super useful on spells like Flare where, if you take to long to actually cast the spell, your target will have moved and rendered the spell ineffective. Once I got the hang of it on my hunter, it allowed me to throw Binding Shot and all three of my traps out in the time it used to take me to cast one of them. Instead of hitting the button, aiming the targeting circle, and then actually casting the spell, this macro tells the game to just cast the spell at your cursor. This is great since because being REQUIRED to move your mouse or use precious time with unnecessary movement or clicking is bad.Get the most out of your traps, totems, and AOE spells. While these changes could be improved, they are still huge for Ability Powered gamers! By using your position wisely you can now control your targeted AoE spells. Although, I feel like it will still make players relying on these methods a little behind players who do not. Controlling the target with a pre-positioned cursor or with the current location of our character helps. Things like or could actually make our spell usage on par with players who can easily use mouse and keyboard together. This is not optimal, I understand, but itâs a start.Īdding a few more conditionals could be a complete game changer for disabled gamers in Azeroth. This can be helpful if you are a keyboard only gamer by pre-positioning your mouse pointer an inch or two in front of your character and just leave it there while you play. It lets you immediately cast the spell you have macroâd to your cursorâs current location. The other targeting macro is helpful to a little smaller audience of disabled gamers. This works with healing and damage spells. Just run to where you want the spell to hit, hit your button or keybind, and profit. With this targeting macro the spell will target in a circle around you. First, you can choose to target yourself with the spell. Instead, the spell can be cast instantly with two results. These macros now remove the need to target areas of the screen. This hurt their performance and led to enough frustration that some actually quit. The inability to use the mouse made some spells unusable. For keyboard only users it was even worse. Especially if the user has accuracy problems. The time it takes some of us to click on a spell, move our mouse to where we needed it, then apply it could be problematic. For mouse only users it has been an issue with speed. Spells with an Area of Effect (AoE) targeting system require you to click the spell then click the ground where you want the spell to cast. In thee case where you just need the codes then I will go into a little more detail about what they do.įor a few years now I have heard from disabled gamers about a problem theyâve had in Azeroth. I am going to cut straight to the good stuff. I know, I know, you are asking âbut Short, HOW?â Let me show you! Users can rearrange the tests to suit their preferences. The first test in that returns true will apply the following tests are ignored. This macro is used for advanced targeting of healing spells. Used when you don't want mouseover targeting when solo.
